Direct Support Professional - Prevocational Day Services
About the role
Our mission is to advocate, support, and provide services to people with developmental and other disabilities, emphasizing choice and full community engagement. Assist individuals with developmental disabilities with skill acquisition, retention, or improvement in self‑help, socialization, and adaptive skills; help develop and attain life goals; and provide support to attain independence, productivity, and integration. The Arc Madison Cortland is a non‑profit agency dedicated to supporting people with special needs, providing leadership in the disability field and developing resources so community members can achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Assists individuals in site‑based pre‑vocational program 3 days per week and in group day habilitation 2 days per week.
- Travel between sites is required.
- Provides safe transport of individuals.
- Provides individualized care as outlined in each individual’s Life Plan or IPOP.
- Assists individuals in the primary activities of the assigned vocational program per the Life Plan and staff action plan to promote independence.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid New York State driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to the agency’s liability/automotive insurance carrier.
- Six months to one year of related experience or training preferred.

Pay
$20.00 hourly hiring rate, with a sign‑on bonus of up to $1,000.
Schedule
Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (full‑time).
