Job Summary

Gallagher Services, a Catholic Charities program, seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in engaging in activities they love and pursuing their goals.

At a Glance

Pay Rate: $20 - $20.50 per hour (Depending on years of experience)
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 9 AM - 3 PM

A Day in the Life

• Assisting with daily routines such as bathing, dressing, and personal care
• Supporting people in preparing meals of their choice
• Maintaining a clean and comfortable kitchen environment
• Encouraging healthy eating habits
• Supporting people in activities they enjoy like playing sports, going to church, painting, going out to eat, and going to the movies

What You'll Do

• Promote dignity, independence, and choice in daily routines
• Encourage healthy eating habits and maintain a clean and comfortable kitchen environment
• Advocate for each person's rights and help build their confidence and sense of self
• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points
• Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairs
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for long periods, and provide physical assistance when needed
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete)
