Direct Support Professional - (Medically Complex Residential Program)

About the role

The pay range for this position is $21.55 to $25.07 hourly depending on education and experience. This position is located in Rutland, MA. There are multiple available schedules for this position.

Responsibilities

• Passionate about working with and helping youth with complex medical needs.
• Provide direct supervision to ensure the safety and security of all youth as assigned.
• Aid in daily activities such as room cleaning, chores, laundry, personal hygiene, and assisting with personal care skills.
• Take and record vital signs and provide wound care as needed.
• Assist with transportation to medical appointments and transfers, walking, and using mobility aids.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid drivers license required.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Previous experience preferred (not required) working with individuals under 21 with medical, psychological, emotional and behavioral disorders, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, and/or autism spectrum disorder.
• Attend a 2-week paid orientation, Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, in Rutland, MA.
• MUST BE MAPS certified, or able to obtain certification within 6 months of employment.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid drivers license.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Previous experience preferred (not required) working with individuals under 21 with medical, psychological, emotional and behavioral disorders, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, and/or autism spectrum disorder.
• Attend a 2-week paid orientation, Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, in Rutland, MA.

Skills

• Passion for working with individuals with complex medical needs.
• Ability to provide direct supervision and ensure safety and security.
• Knowledge of basic ADLs and personal care skills.
• Experience taking and recording vital signs.
• Ability to assist with transportation and transfers.
