DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL - GOSHEN, NY

Duties & Responsibilities

• Implement individualized action plans for individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities.
• Aid in improving personal care, social skills, money management, life skills, and overall wellbeing.
• Knowledge of Individual Staff Action Plans required.
• Provide constant supervision and observation of individuals.
• Maintain cleanliness of the residence.
• Serve as a role model and advocate.
• Drive to and from work as required.
• Must have a valid, non-restricted driver’s license.
• Mandatory overtime is required.
• Successfully complete AMAP Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Administer medications as prescribed by a doctor(s) within 90 days of hire.
• Complete Tube feeding training for certification (if required) within 90 days of hire.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid (non-restricted) Driver’s License required.
• Related work experience preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Communicate clearly and effectively.
• Perform SCIP-R physical interventions including use of lifts.
• Lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
• Travel stairs to the 2nd floor as necessary.
