Direct Support Professional - Full-Time 2nd and 3rd Shift

About the role

The Epilepsy Center of Northwest Ohio is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join their mission-driven team. In this role, you aren’t just a caregiver, you are an empowering guide. You’ll help individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities live full, independent, and joyful lives at home and out in the community.

Responsibilities

• Daily Living Support: Assist with personal care tasks including ambulation, bathing, grooming, and toileting with the utmost dignity.
• Community Enrichment: Engage individuals in exciting social, recreational, and local community activities.
• Home Comforts: Help maintain an enriching home environment by preparing meals, cleaning, doing laundry, and handling general household tasks.
• Safe Transits: Transport individuals safely to their medical appointments, grocery trips, or social outings.
• Goal Achievement: Actively encourage personal growth, independence, and the achievement of individual life goals.
• Professional Care: Accurately document daily activities, incidents, and client progress, and communicate professionally with team members, families, and clients.

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Age: Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Reliable transportation with clean driving history: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (fewer than 6 points) and proof of active auto insurance.
• Background: Ability to successfully pass standard BCI/FBI background checks and required health screenings.
• No prior experience in human services is not required—we provide comprehensive, fully paid training and orientation!
