About the role

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for individualized care and ongoing support for people in our community with complex physical, medical and intellectual challenges.

Responsibilities

• Introduce and encourage skill development through active treatment activities
• Implement individualized programs; record all observations and daily progress notes
• Participate in planning social, home, and recreational activities
• Auxiliary with meals and perform cleaning and laundry duties in the house
• Bathe, dress, and assist clients with personal hygiene
• Transport clients to appointments and activities in Verland vehicles
• Perform housekeeping duties as needed
• Administer medication as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable means of transportation
• Ability to lift and transfer without restrictions
• Pass a complete Background, Physical, and Drug screening
