Direct Support Professional (FT/1st)

New wage: $19.25/hr plus a $2,000 sign-on bonus.

About the role

Verland is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide exceptional care to individuals with complex physical, medical, and intellectual challenges in Hasenflu House (Hermitage, PA 16148). This is an hourly, non-exempt position.

Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week on a rotating 3-week schedule:

• Week 1: 7am – 3pm Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
• Week 2: 7am – 3pm Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
• Week 3: 7am – 3pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday

Responsibilities

• Enrich and support the lives of residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment
• Introduce and encourage skill development through active treatment activities
• Implement individualized programs; record observations and daily progress notes
• Participate in planning social, home, and recreational activities
• Assist with meals and perform housekeeping and laundry duties
• Transport clients to appointments and activities in Verland vehicles
• Assist with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene
• Administer medications
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable means of transportation
• Ability to lift and transfer without restrictions
• Must pass a complete background check, physical, and drug screening

Experience is not required. Verland provides 2 weeks of paid training covering daily living skills, social engagement, personal hygiene, and individualized support plans to improve residents’ daily lives. Completion of training is mandatory at the start of employment.
