Direct Support Professional (DSP): Silver knoll/ Part-Time (24 hours), 3rd Shift including Weekends and Holidays / Warren MI

About the role

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) supports the individual goals of the person served and helps them become integrated into his/her community in the least restrictive manner. The DSP may assist in areas of mobility, activities of daily living, communication, cognition, health management, social networking, vocational, leisure time management, and community participation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety 24/7, including eyes-on supervision, 15 or 30 minute checks, etc.
• Prevent, intervene, and resolve crises.
• Build collaborative relationships based on trust and empathy through consistent and meaningful communication.
• Foster partnerships with individuals served, the community, and other professionals.
• Help build effective skills for problem-solving, communication, and independence.
• Aid in social and leisure activities such as transport/escort to stores, concerts, movies, or in-house social events.
• Support daily living activities like getting to and from places, dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and cooking.
• Monitor vital signs for medical conditions or illnesses.
• Absentee at medical appointments and relay accurate information to the care team.
• Implement and document medical, behavioral, and clinical team care plans.
• Connect individuals with community opportunities, volunteer work, career goals, or educational interests.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• Valid State of Michigan driver's license
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification
• Commitment to scheduled shifts, assigned duties, and performance expectations: 3rd Shift (Nights) Part-Time including weekends and holidays.
