Direct Support Professional (DSP) III: OIDD - Midlands
Job Responsibilities
Under limited supervision of the Direct Support Manager, this position is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Direct Support Professional I and II's. Responsible for the supervisory functions of the Direct Support Professional I's and II's. Ensures that all documentation required for the consumers Individual Support Plan (ISP) have been completed and monitors the safety and care of consumers. Ensures Active Treatment for consumers in assigned buildings is implemented by staff. This entails monitorship programs developed by the Interdisciplinary (ID) Team. Monitors completion of behavior data sheets, ISP training programs, and GER (General Event Reports) to ensure all required documentation is entered into THERAP. Monitors Day Programs monthly (i.e. on/off campus). Responsible for reporting significant events and suspected abuse immediately per Agency and Office policy and procedures.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree and one (1) year experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing ICF-IID, as well as directives relevant to an ICF.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, comply with all required regulations and procedures; be a team leader and maintain effective working relationships.
- Computer skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with individuals who may be physically aggressive or medically fragile.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, which includes standing, walking, stooping, bending and pulling.
