Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver

About the role

You’ll work directly with people in need of assistance, and/or living with intellectual or developmental disabilities, or other complex medical needs. With services nationwide, our team is united by a shared commitment to making a real difference – one person, one voice, one choice at a time!

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
• Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve.
• Aid in daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, personal hygiene and more.

Requirements

• Person-centered, patient, and kind.

• Computer skills for documentation.
• Valid Drivers License (due to transporting persons served).

Qualifications

• 18 years or older.
• Some positions / locations may require own personal vehicle and auto-liability insurance based on the role.
• A successful background clearance is required as part of the onboarding/employment process.

Skills

Good communication is key in this role. You’ll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members.

Pay

$18 an hour

Schedule

• Sun/Mon 11pm-9am, Saturday 11p-7am (Waterbury)
• Sun 11am-5pm, Fri 2pm-7pm, Sat 11am-4pm (Waterbury)
• Mon, Tues, Fri 8am-10am (Naugatuck)
• Sun 1pm-9pm, Mon 3pm-10pm, Thurs 3pm-10pm, Fri 3pm-10pm, Sat 1pm-9pm (Thomaston)
• Sun, Mon 3pm-11pm, Tues 3pm-10pm, Sat 7am-3pm (Thomaston)
