DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP) - ADULT DAY SERVICES

About the Role

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) you will support individuals with disabilities in their daily lives, assisting with personal care, meal preparation, transportation, and community outings. You will foster independence, promote social inclusion, serve as a positive role model, and collaborate with a supportive team of DSPs, supervisors, and families. This position requires a valid NYS driver’s license held for at least 18 months with a clean driving record and successful completion of Brightway’s Transportation Orientation. New hires who do not meet this criteria will be offered a lower rate, starting at $19.00 /hour.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support with personal care, meal preparation, transportation, and community outings.
• Foster independence by helping individuals develop life skills and make choices.
• Promote social inclusion by supporting participation in community activities.
• Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating empathy and patience.
• Collaborate effectively with a team of DSPs, supervisors, and families.

Requirements

• Valid NYS driver’s license held for at least 18 months with a clean driving history.
• Successful completion of Brightway’s Transportation Orientation.

Pay

Hourly rate: $21.00 – $23.10 per hour (part‑time). New hires without the required driver’s license qualification may start at $19.00 per hour. This position is listed as non‑benefits eligible in the posting.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.
