About the role
At Ability Beyond, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilling and independent life. As a Direct Support Professional, you will support adults with various types of needs in both residential and community settings.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Assist with personal care, including bathing, toileting, and medication reminders as needed
- Support individuals in developing independent living skills such as budgeting, communication, and meal planning
- Encourage participation in social, recreational, and volunteer activities such as fitness, crafts, Special Olympics, and community events
- Implement behavioral support strategies and use de-escalation techniques when needed
- Collaborate with nurses, behaviorists, nutritionists, and other clinical team members to provide well-rounded care
- Aid in goal planning, progress tracking, and skill development
- Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress, and daily activities
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Willingness to learn with no prior experience required. Paid training is provided

- Caregiver must be compassionate, dependable, and motivated to support others
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer literacy

Pay Rate: $20.25 to $20.75 per hour

Monday through Friday, guaranteed full-time hours
