Direct Support Professional - Day Habilitation

About the role

The role involves providing direct support services to individuals with developmental disabilities in a day habilitation setting. The goal is to promote independence, socialization, and personal growth through structured activities and routines.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
• Engage in recreational and educational activities designed to enhance cognitive and social skills.
• Monitor and record individual progress and behavior in accordance with program guidelines.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss strategies and address challenges.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
• Passion for supporting individuals in achieving their goals.

Skills

• Basic computer literacy.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good physical stamina for assisting individuals with mobility issues.

$15.00 per hour.

Schedule

Variable schedule to accommodate client needs, typically 8-hour shifts with flexibility.
