Direct Support Professional - Awake Over Nights

Responsibilities

• Serve as a positive role model for other team members and people served, following the mission, values, and policies of Pride.
• Enhance the individual’s ability to make choices in their lives that will allow them to achieve their goals, have better relationships, be more satisfied with their services and with their life situations, have a daily routine and privacy, and effectively use their environments.
• Enable people to participate in the life of the community in an integrated environment, have friends, perform social roles and interact with other members of the community.
• Ensure people are safe and are connected to a natural support system, exercise their rights, be treated fairly and be respected.
• Promote the growth, well-being and autonomy of the individuals served.
• Maintain a warm, sensitive, caring environment through positive interaction and role modeling, show genuine interest in people.
• Provide a sanitary and clean living environment.
• Attend meetings and participate in agency sponsored in-service training (attend all staff meetings; successfully complete required training according to Pride's training policy; attend in services offered by Pride so as to enhance one's job performance).
• Be a responsible Team Member (arrive to work on time, flexible with work schedule, punches in/out for scheduled shifts, completes all paperwork in a timely manner, effectively and positively communicate with Supervisor and co-workers by checking voice mail when working and utilizing communication logs in assigned settings).

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma preferred.
• Experience in working with people with disabilities preferred.
• Current ND driver’s license in good standing preferred.
• Assistance with transferring and lifting up to 50 pounds.
