Direct Support Professional

About the role

As a Caregiver at REM Community Services, you’ll assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their daily lives. You’ll support people with personal hygiene, behavioral challenges, and other complex needs while helping them grow, learn, and live well. Each day, you’ll develop meaningful relationships, take initiative to integrate participants into the community, and support their developmental goals in areas like budgeting, exercise, and nutrition.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with personal hygiene and daily living activities.
• Support participants with behavioral challenges and complex needs.
• Develop meaningful relationships with the individuals you serve.
• Help participants engage in community activities and favorite pastimes.
• Support developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition.
• Take initiative to foster independence and growth in participants.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination (preferred).
• Valid Driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance.
