Direct Support Professional

About the role

As a caregiver at Sevita, you’ll provide community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Each day, you’ll assist people with personal hygiene, support individuals with behavioral challenges and other complex needs, and help participants grow, learn, and live well. You’ll develop meaningful relationships, take initiative to integrate participants into the community, and support their developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with personal hygiene and daily living activities
• Support participants with behavioral challenges and complex needs
• Develop meaningful relationships with the individuals you serve
• Help participants engage in community activities and favorite pastimes
• Support developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition
• Take initiative to foster independence and growth for participants

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination (preferred)
• Valid Driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance
