Direct Support Professional

About the role

Direct Support Professionals assist people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community-based settings. You’ll help individuals with personal hygiene, support those with behavioral challenges and other complex needs, and assist with developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition. Each day, you’ll develop meaningful relationships with the individuals you serve and take initiative to help them participate in community activities.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with personal hygiene and daily living activities
• Assist participants with behavioral challenges and complex needs
• Help individuals achieve developmental goals (e.g., budgeting, exercise, nutrition)
• Foster meaningful relationships with those you serve
• Encourage community participation and engagement in favorite activities

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination (preferred)
• Valid Driver's license and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance
