Direct Support Professional

About the role

As a Caregiver at REM Community Services, you’ll assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their daily lives. You’ll help with personal hygiene, support those with behavioral challenges and complex needs, and assist participants in achieving developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition. Each day, you’ll develop meaningful relationships, take initiative to integrate participants into the community, and engage them in their favorite activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with personal hygiene and daily living activities.
• Support participants with behavioral challenges and complex care needs.
• Help individuals achieve developmental goals (e.g., budgeting, exercise, nutrition).
• Foster meaningful relationships with those you serve.
• Take initiative to include participants in community activities.
• Work collaboratively with a mission-driven team to motivate and support individuals.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination (preferred).
• Valid Driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance.
