Direct Support Professional

About the role

As a Caregiver at Sevita, you’ll assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their daily lives. You’ll help with personal hygiene, support those with behavioral challenges and complex needs, and assist participants in achieving developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition. Each day, you’ll develop meaningful relationships, take initiative to integrate participants into the community, and experience rewarding work that helps people grow, learn, and live well.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with personal hygiene and daily living activities.
• Support participants with behavioral challenges and complex care needs.
• Help participants achieve developmental goals (e.g., budgeting, exercise, nutrition).
• Foster meaningful relationships with the individuals you serve.
• Take initiative to include participants in community activities and favorite pastimes.
• Work collaboratively with a mission-driven team to motivate and support participants.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination (preferred).
• Valid Driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance.
