Direct Support Professional

About the role

As a Caregiver at REM Community Services (part of the Sevita family), you’ll provide community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You’ll assist people with personal hygiene, support individuals with behavioral challenges and complex needs, and help participants achieve developmental goals like budgeting, exercise, and nutrition. You’ll also take initiative to help participants engage in community activities and enjoy their favorite pastimes.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with personal hygiene and daily living activities.
• Support participants with behavioral challenges and complex care needs.
• Help participants achieve developmental goals (e.g., budgeting, exercise, nutrition).
• Encourage community involvement and participation in favorite activities.
• Develop meaningful relationships with the individuals you serve.
• Take ownership and initiative in supporting participants’ growth and well-being.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination (preferred).
• Valid Driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance.
