Direct Support Professional

About the role

As a Caregiver at REM Community Services (part of the Sevita family), you’ll provide community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You’ll assist people with personal hygiene, support individuals with behavioral challenges and complex needs, and help participants achieve developmental goals like budgeting, exercise, and nutrition. Each day, you’ll develop meaningful relationships, take initiative to integrate participants into the community, and experience rewarding work that helps people grow, learn, and live well.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with personal hygiene and daily living activities
• Support participants with behavioral challenges and complex needs
• Help participants achieve developmental goals (e.g., budgeting, exercise, nutrition)
• Develop meaningful relationships with individuals served
• Take initiative to help participants engage in community activities
• Support participants in enjoying their favorite activities

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination (preferred)
• Valid Driver's license and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance
