Direct Support Professional

About the role

As a Caregiver at REM Community Services (part of the Sevita family), you’ll provide community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Each day, you’ll help people grow, learn, and live well while developing meaningful relationships with those you serve. You’ll assist with personal hygiene, support individuals with behavioral challenges and complex needs, and help participants achieve developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition. You’ll also take initiative to help participants engage in community activities and enjoy their favorite pastimes.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with personal hygiene and daily living activities
• Support participants with behavioral challenges and complex care needs
• Help individuals achieve developmental goals (e.g., budgeting, exercise, nutrition)
• Encourage community participation and engagement in favorite activities
• Build meaningful, trusting relationships with participants
• Take initiative to support participants’ growth and independence

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination (preferred)
• Valid Driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance
