The Role
Be a Mentor, Not Just a "Staff Member"
As a CLS Specialist, you aren't just "providing care"—you are a bridge to independence. You are the person who helps someone with intellectual or developmental disabilities navigate their world, build new skills, and find their voice.
Your day-to-day
- Exploring the Community: Helping someone find a great volunteer spot or a new hobby.
- Building Independence: Teaching the "art" of a great home-cooked meal or managing a shopping trip.
- Being an Advocate: Ensuring the people we serve are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.
- Celebrating Wins: Whether it's hitting a personal safety goal or mastering a new task, you are there to cheer them on.
Why You'll Love Working Here
- We See You: We take pride in our staff and make sure you're recognized for your hard work—not just lost in the shuffle.
- Professional Growth: This isn't just a job; it's a leadership lab. You'll develop communication and problem-solving skills that stay with you forever.
- Passion-Driven Team: Work alongside people who actually care about their "why."
- Full Training Provided: Have a big heart but no experience? Don't sweat it. We'll provide all the training you need to feel confident and successful.
What We're Looking For
- The Right Heart: You are patient, motivating, and believe in empowerment.
- Reliability: You have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and a valid Michigan Driver's License with reliable transportation.
- Communication: You're a pro at keeping your team in the loop and maintaining a positive vibe.
- Clean Record: A clear criminal background check is required.
- Note: One year of experience is a plus, but if you're eager to learn, we want to meet you!
