Direct Support Professional

About the role

Easterseals PORT Health empowers individuals and strengthens communities through its mission. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you'll assist people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in completing daily tasks and achieving their goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home of the individual and in the community.
• Aid with housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning.
• Support personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, toiletry, and changing diapers.
• Offer employment support and assist with planning and organizing schedules.
• Document and report in the electronic health system of record daily activities.

Requirements

• Part-time position, 7am-11am, Monday-Friday.
• Location: Morehead City, NC and surrounding areas with local community travel.
• Experience: Entry-level, on-the-job training provided.
• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge: Basic housekeeping, nutrition, and safety protocols.
• Skills: Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability.
• Technology: Proficiency with EHR systems or ability to learn.
• Transportation: Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance.

Qualifications
