Direct Support Professional

About the Role

Merakey, a leading non-profit provider of developmental and behavioral health services, is seeking mission-driven, compassionate, and reliable Direct Support Professionals to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA in our IDD Division. This role is ideal for individuals looking to start or advance a meaningful career in human services, including those with experience as a Caregiver, Direct Care Worker, or Home Health Aide. No prior experience is required—we provide paid training.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
• Support life skills development, including household tasks and social skills.
• Provide community support and transportation.
• Promote health, safety, and well-being, including medication support (as trained).
• Complete required documentation, progress notes, and service logs.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Experience in a home health aide setting or school setting working with people who have Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities is preferred.
• Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential.

Pay

Earn up to $17 per hour.

Schedule

Shifts available: evenings, weekends, and overnights.
