Responsibilities
- Encourage, guide, and train individuals in developing daily living skills and habits
- Take care of individuals' personal needs
- Assure community integration
- Ensure the health and safety of individuals
- Maintain the service environment
- Provide services in train on daily living skills and independent skills
- Provide services and training to individuals in areas including, but not limited to, counseling, health, personal hygiene, budgeting, food preparation, activities of daily living, and recreation
- Comply with all policies of the Agency and all applicable state and federal regulations
- Document and report all incidents and abuses to supervisors on a timely manner
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent
- A background working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is a plus
- The ability to support people with intellectual/developmental disabilities
- A valid NY State Driver's License may be required depending upon the position
- Interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- A willingness to take initiative
- A minimum of 18 years of age
- The necessity of having or being able to obtain CPR, First Aid, AMAP, and SCIP Certifications
