Responsibilities

  • Encourage, guide, and train individuals in developing daily living skills and habits
  • Take care of individuals' personal needs
  • Assure community integration
  • Ensure the health and safety of individuals
  • Maintain the service environment
  • Provide services in train on daily living skills and independent skills
  • Provide services and training to individuals in areas including, but not limited to, counseling, health, personal hygiene, budgeting, food preparation, activities of daily living, and recreation
  • Comply with all policies of the Agency and all applicable state and federal regulations
  • Document and report all incidents and abuses to supervisors on a timely manner

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A background working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is a plus
  • The ability to support people with intellectual/developmental disabilities
  • A valid NY State Driver's License may be required depending upon the position
  • Interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • A willingness to take initiative
  • A minimum of 18 years of age
  • The necessity of having or being able to obtain CPR, First Aid, AMAP, and SCIP Certifications
