Direct Support Professional

About the role

Easterseals PORT Health empowers individuals and strengthens communities through its mission. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a crucial role by assisting people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in completing daily tasks and achieving their goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home of the individual and in the community.
• Assist with housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning.
• Support personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, toiletry, and changing diapers.
• Transport clients to appointments and run errands.
• Help plan and organize the client's schedule.
• Document and report in the electronic health system of record daily activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic housekeeping, nutrition, and safety protocols knowledge.
• Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability.
• Proficiency with EHR systems or willingness to learn.
• Reliable transportation, driver’s license, and current auto insurance.
