Direct Support Professional
About the role
The role involves providing direct support to clients in a professional setting, including but not limited to assisting with daily activities, monitoring health and safety, and facilitating communication between clients and external parties.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
- Maintain client health and safety by monitoring for signs of illness or injury and reporting to supervisors.
- Facilitate communication between clients and healthcare providers, family members, and other relevant parties.
- Participate in regular training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Pass a background check and drug screening.
Skills
- Basic computer literacy.
- Knowledge of disability-specific resources and services.
