Direct Support Professional - Art Program Part Time

About the role

Adjoin is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Veterans, and their families. We provide services and advocacy to over 1400 clients annually across California. The role at Adjoin Catalysts focuses on empowering individuals to make choices that enhance their quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for clients' decisions and participation in daily activities.
• Support clients in maintaining independence while addressing their intellectual and physical challenges.
• Implement and manage training programs under supervision.
• Maintain open communication with supervisors, clients, and community members.
• Evaluate clients through task analysis and other assessments.
• Document client activities and evaluations accurately and promptly.
• Provide positive advocacy and address challenging behaviors.
• Oversee client activities and ensure safety and compliance.
• Transport clients to various appointments and activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Age 18 or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Confidentiality, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR.
• Valid driver’s license and insured, registered vehicle.
• Access to a mobile device with internet connectivity for job tasks.
• Ability to travel 75% of the time.
• Experience in the IDD community and interest in Arts & Crafts.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
• Pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Physical evaluations based on specific duties.
• Acceptable driving record.
