About the role

New Avenues to Independence is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide person-centered care and support to individuals with disabilities in various settings. The position offers opportunities for growth and independence, with a focus on fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered care and support to individuals with disabilities in residential and day program settings.
• Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication management.
• Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes growth, independence, and self-determination.
• Plan and engage in meaningful activities, outings, and events to enhance the quality of life for the people you support.
• Promote social and emotional well-being by building strong, supportive relationships.
• Collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals to create and implement individualized care plans.
• Collaborate with people to complete tasks and build independence in their lives.
• Provide support with daily routines such as personal care, cooking, cleaning, shopping, and attending medical appointments.

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• Valid Ohio Driver’s license with 4 pts or less, valid auto insurance
• A high school diploma or GED
• A desire to make a difference in people’s lives
