About the role

The role involves overseeing and guiding Residential Habilitation Services Plans for individuals. Float DSP staff may work holidays, weekends, and overnight shifts based on program needs.

Responsibilities

• Implement Residential Habilitation Services and Periodic Staff Supports as per ISP and Residential Habilitation Service Plan
• Ensure supervision meets IPOP, MHMMP, Behavior Support Plan and other applicable plans
• Ensure supervision of individuals based on physical/medical needs
• Adhere to Direct Support Professional Code of Ethics and Core Competencies
• Monitor individuals' medical needs and communicate concerns to supervisor(s)
• Complete required Agency trainings, including medical training based on individual's needs
• Administer medications as per Agency Policy and Procedure
• Provide hands-on assistance for personal health care
• Assist with dressing, meal preparation, and cooking
• Supervise meal times and ensure adherence to dietary regimen
• Complete cleaning schedule and maintain cleanliness of home
• Manage tools, equipment, and personal clothing
• Transport individuals to community resources and conduct fire drills
• Support interpersonal relationships and promote cooperation
• Communicate with healthcare providers and document information
• Work overnight shifts and remain awake to perform job responsibilities
• Attend meetings and participate in quality assurance activities
• Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with geriatric and/or individuals with developmental disabilities, or CNA certification preferred
• Valid NYS drivers license with safe driving record
