Location: Arlington, TN – Department of Disability and Aging (DDA), Shelby County. Four positions available in the West TN Homes Division. A Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) screening and criminal background check are required. Applicants must provide information about their criminal history as part of the consideration process.

Pay

Monthly: $2,581.00 - $3,226.00
Annually: $30,972.00 - $38,712.00

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school.
• Completed a background check in a manner approved by the appointing authority.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Able to lift 50 pounds with or without assistance.

About the Role

Under immediate supervision, this classification performs direct care work of routine difficulty for intellectually and developmentally disabled (IDD) individuals in a community home setting. This is the working level in the IDD direct care series and differs from an IDD Home Manager, who supervises this role and manages the home.

Responsibilities

• Implements Person Centered Support Plans as written by the person served and their support system, including personal hygiene, active treatment inside and outside of the home, and other person-focused care.
• Maintains personal property of people supported, including assessing condition and assisting with decisions about property disposition.
• Utilizes custom positioning equipment as outlined in person-centered support plans.
• Maintains ICF/IID and/or residential home in a safe manner by cleaning routinely, checking equipment and furniture, and ensuring exits are unobstructed for safe evacuations.
• Plans for emergencies to ensure the safety of persons supported and practices safety drills routinely.
• Ensures supplies are adequately stocked to support people served.
• Completes assigned training within stated timelines.
• Utilizes standard appliances and equipment, including microwave, range with oven, dishwasher, washer and dryer, bathing equipment, and mechanical lifts.
