About the role

Provides support to help individuals participate in activities and develop life skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provides one-on-one support to help individuals build interpersonal and other life skills as outlined in each person's PCP or individualized employment plan.
  • Maintains documentation of individual activities and submits reports to appropriate Workforce Development staff.
  • Reports weekly to the Workforce Manager on the progress of assigned individuals receiving services.
  • Assists Goodwill Industries in maintaining positive relationships with families, guardians, and community partners.
  • Follows and implements all applicable safety laws, regulations, and policies to ensure the safety of individuals in the program, Goodwill staff, transportation services, and community activities.
  • Completes accident reports, unusual occurrence reports, and/or CMH incident reports immediately.
  • Assists with planning and implementing daily activities.
  • Provides personal care for some participants.
  • Transports participants on outings using Goodwill vehicles.
  • Ensures documentation and compliance with CARF standards.
  • Maintains applicable safety standards, rules, and regulations in areas of responsibility.
  • Works with S.M.A.R.T objectives to drive performance and improve Goodwill's value to the community.
  • Works with integrity and provides exemplary customer services to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Has key metrics that drive performance, taking a leadership role in maximizing the social and financial return of the community resources invested in Goodwill.
  • Utilizes the resources of the organization in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Commits to innovation, continuous learning, and leading change in creating community value.
  • Demonstrates a genuine interest in serving the needs of others and a positive attitude toward the community, co-workers, and individuals served.
  • Represents the organization to the public with a courteous, helpful, and business-like attitude.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Workforce Manager, store manager, or Director of Retail.
  • Maintains safety standards within areas of responsibility.
  • Promotes and demonstrates cooperation and teamwork.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities is helpful.
  • Must obtain First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days of hire; training is provided in-house.
  • Must have an acceptable driving record.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid chauffeur's license.
  • Must have a cell phone.

Skills

  • Ability to bend, stretch, reach, and lift up to 40 pounds.
