Direct Support Caregiver

About the Role

REM Community Services, a part of the Sevita family, provides community‑based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role supports participants in daily living, personal hygiene, community involvement, and developmental goals while fostering meaningful relationships.

Responsibilities

• Help participants grow, learn, and live well.
• Develop real, meaningful relationships with the individuals you serve.
• Take initiative to involve participants in community activities and favorite pastimes.
• Support participants with developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition.
• Assist with personal hygiene and daily living tasks.
• Provide support for individuals who may have behavioral challenges or other complex needs.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination preferred.
• Skills: Strong communication, adaptability, multi‑tasking, teamwork, and time‑management.
• Behaviors: Patient, compassionate, reliable, and responsible.
• Vehicle: Valid driver’s license held for at least one year (post‑permit) with a clean driving record that meets Sevita’s insurability policy, and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance.

Pay

$17.00 per hour (part‑time).

Schedule

Part‑time rotating schedule:

• Week 1: Sunday 8 a.m.–8 p.m. (12 hrs), Monday 2 p.m.–10 p.m. (8 hrs), Tuesday 4 p.m.–10 p.m. (6 hrs)
• Week 2: Sunday 8 a.m.–2 p.m. (8 hrs), Wednesday 4 p.m.–10 p.m. (6 hrs), Thursday 4 p.m.–10 p.m. (6 hrs), Saturday 8 a.m.–1 p.m. (5 hrs)
