Direct Service Worker
About the role
As a Direct Support Worker (DSW), you will provide compassionate, one-on-one, person-centered support to individuals in both home and community settings. Your responsibilities will include assisting with personal care, participation in community activities, supporting daily living tasks and personal interests, and promoting social engagement and independence through meaningful group interactions.
Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support participation in community activities and outings
- Help with daily living tasks including meal preparation, medication management, and hygiene
- Promote social engagement and independence through meaningful group interactions
- Support personal interests and hobbies
Requirements
- Minimum 15 hours/week availability
- At least 18 years of age
- Pass a background check
- Pass a 1-Step TB clearance
- Pass CPR and First Aid certifications (reimbursed after 90 days of employment)
- Have a high school or college transcript
- Have a signed resume with 3 references
- If providing transportation: Have a valid driver's license, traffic abstract, auto insurance, vehicle registration, and safety check
Qualifications
No experience is necessary. We provide on-the-job training, support, and flexibility.
Skills
Passionate and willing to help our participants, strong communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a positive attitude are essential.
