About the role

The Direct Sales Representative position at Zimmer Biomet is responsible for achieving sales goals and objectives through effective customer relationships and product education.

Responsibilities

  • Builds and maintains customer relationships, covering orthopedic procedures with clinical proficiency and business acumen.
  • Educates customers on P28 products and prepares reports of business transactions.
  • Buys and implements sales plans for the assigned territory, managing and tracking customer sales activity and prospective customer initiatives.
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data into P28’s delegated systems.
  • Facilitates on-time delivery of products to customers and educates sales representatives, doctors, nurses, and staff on proper use and maintenance of P28 products.
  • Manages and maintains a sample inventory of products, solves product problems for customers, and travels to and attends trade shows, conventions, and/or clinical meetings.
  • Coordinates customer training, aggressively solicits orders, and adheres to laws and policies regarding interactions with healthcare professionals, product handling, and complaints.
  • Keeps the Direct Sales Representative informed of territory progress and directs product evaluations in OR and office settings.
  • Responsible for successful completion of sales training and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Prior orthopedic sales experience preferred; ability to learn and understand orthopedic concepts quickly
  • Strong sales and communication skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance policy
  • Able to work efficiently and autonomously with little direction when outside of clinical events
  • Residence within the geographical contracted territory of business is required, unless prior approval granted by the Executive VP of Sales and/or CEO

Qualifications

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

This is a full-time position requiring weekend, evening, and holiday work as surgeries require on an emergency basis.

Travel

20% overnight travel is expected, including attending national meetings, district meetings, and other training as requested.
