About the role

The Direct Sales Consultant promotes and sells Dobson Fiber products and services to residential customers in the Lawton, OK area. This includes sales to single-family homes and multiple dwelling units through Dobson Fiber’s relationships with property management.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes advanced knowledge of Dobson’s products, services, and sales processes to maximize sales and effectively work assigned territories.
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of Dobson Fiber’s offerings, promoting and selling to individual customers by visiting every home within assigned territory.
  • Displays up-to-date competitive knowledge of features, benefits, product differences, and pricing of residential home internet.
  • Effectively communicates and develops rapport with customers, evaluating their existing and potential product needs and making recommendations.
  • Increases customer understanding of Dobson Fiber’s services, pricing, and competitive advantages.
  • Acquires new residential customers through door-to-door contact from assigned leads.
  • Creates and executes turf management plans independently, using experience-based sales techniques.
  • Conducts proactive consultative needs analysis with prospective customers.
  • Develops and presents sales presentations/proposals tailored to customers’ needs.
  • Accurately completes all necessary paperwork, including dispositioning, entering sales orders, and reporting on sales.
  • Actively participates in sales meetings and training programs to support team goals.
  • Monitors competitors’ activities in assigned territory and informs management of competitive pricing, marketing, or sales tactics.
  • Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficient computer and technical skills to support customer solutions.
  • Reliable personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a satisfactory driving record (where applicable).
  • Ability to walk and/or travel door-to-door for considerable distances in all weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work outside in various weather conditions.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and variable schedules as necessary.
  • Familiarity with computer operating systems, software applications, and communication devices (e.g., PDAs, smartphones, routers, modems, set-top converters, and wireless devices).
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.

Schedule

Full-time, with the ability to work nights, weekends, and variable schedules as necessary.

Working Conditions

  • May require remaining in a stationary position and moving throughout the work environment.
  • Must comply with company safety policies, including PPE, safe driving, and DOT requirements.
