Direct Care Worker

Responsibilities
- Motivates and encourages clients who have an acquired brain injury to progress in the home environment as well as in the community
- Affords clients with activities of daily living
- Supports clients by preparing them for their day and assisting them getting to and from work, therapy, and other appointments
- Ranges of motion exercises
- Performs household services essential to home health care
- Attends concerts, sporting events and other entertainment activities with clients
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with individuals with TBI or SCI (preferred)
- Certified Medication Aide (CMA) or Med Tech certification (preferred or required by state regulations)
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to lift, transfer, and physically assist individuals with mobility limitations
- Strong observational, communication, and teamwork skills
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries
Qualifications
