About the role

The Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking dependable Direct Care Staff in the town of Springfield, MA. Join our dedicated Direct Care Staff that work in a supportive residential environment for developmentally disabled adults living in a community-based group home.

Responsibilities

• Establish open communication, support, and accountability among co-workers.
• Provide a supportive residential environment for developmentally disabled adults living in a community-based group home.
• Optimize individuals' independence through various activities of daily living assistance.
• Administer medications as needed (training provided).
• Advocate for individuals in community settings.
• Build professional, supportive relationships with individuals, offering informal guidance with a person-centered approach while maintaining appropriate boundaries.

Requirements

• Ability to complete medication administration training (MAP certification).
• Previous experience working with individuals with dementia or behavioral complexities is highly encouraged.
• All candidates must complete and pass background record screening process.
• Must have a vehicle for work use and current driver's license.
• Current First Aid, CPR, and MAP certification preferred.
• Must be flexible to work a 2nd shift schedule, 3pm-11pm, that includes weekends.

Pay and Benefits
