About the role
As an Electrical Engineer, you will function as a technical specialist or in a lead role, applying advanced engineering techniques and analyses with minimal supervision. You will continue building on your knowledge to develop concepts and approach more complex engineering problems. You will provide technical guidance over a group or supervise engineering staff on projects of low to medium complexity and be responsible for developing, validating, and presenting specialist/technical output.
Responsibilities
- Reports directly to Director of Power & Grid Strategy
- Performs generation and transmission capacity analyses to support infrastructure siting strategy
- Prepares large load interconnection applications for submission to utilities
- Maintains engagement with utilities to obtain project status updates and drive progress toward an executable energy supply agreement
- Analyzes, summarizes, and communicates utility requirements, study results, agreements, and regulations to project team and leadership
- Supports project team as a technical expert
- Proficient in the use of industry software, such as PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, TARA
Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience
- Experience with data center load applications and load profiles
- Experience with data center owner/operators
- Experience with electric utilities processes and contracts
