Duties And Responsibilities
- Prepare quality meals while preventing food waste.
- Follow established recipes and able to use a computer to access recipe database.
- Aid with food preparation.
- Learn and utilize all kitchen equipment.
- Regularly give feedback to chef on recipes and how students feel about menu items.
- Verify all food prepared match allergen labeling displayed in the Front of the House.
- Model and communicate proper food safety techniques.
- Properly maintain all food logs and production notes.
- Assist in training, developing, and overseeing student kitchen employees.
- Verify all stations in the Front of the House and Back of the House have been properly cleaned and closed.
- All equipment properly shut down.
- All doors, coolers, and freezers should be properly locked.
- Maintain set standards of quality and safety.
- Ability to handle pressure, multi-tasking, and some weekend hours.
- Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs.
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Food Protection Manager Certification, preferred
- Allergen Certification, preferred
- 2+ years food service experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong organizational and mathematical skills
