Dining Services Director

About the role

The Food Service Director will work in a hospitality model kitchen, cooking, serving, and interacting with residents of our assisted living care facility. This hands-on role involves preparing and serving food at least two shifts per week, while also integrating into the Benchmark community by engaging with residents and families and acting as a liaison when needed. While the position includes management duties, it is not a full administrative role.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of food service professionals to prepare quality meals for residents
• Complete daily administrative reports
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations, as well as Benchmark’s standards and policies
• Report all accidents and incidents to the Executive Director
• Assure planned menus are followed in accordance with established dietary guidelines
• Maintain cleanliness of all work areas
• Inspect food storage rooms, utility janitorial closets, etc. for upkeep, supply, and infection control
• Review temperature documentation of freezers, refrigerators, etc. for proper temperatures
• Address resident concerns or service problems immediately
• Manage department budget and maintain adequate financial records and cost reports
• Conduct monthly food advisory board meetings with residents and keep minutes
• Work a minimum of one weekend day every work week

Requirements

• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Knowledge of dietary procedures and related Health Department regulations and guidelines for food service operations
• Ability to serve food and beverages for residents in a prompt and efficient manner
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Primarily a standing position, required to stand in one place for extended periods

Salary: $70,000

Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday
