Dining Services Associate

The position is part-time with a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays. Wednesdays are particularly exciting as Walk-In-Wednesday events bring representatives from various departments to showcase in-demand careers.

Qualifications

• Certification in the Food Handlers Course or equivalent
• Previous experience in the food service industry
• Ability to read and write English
• Willingness and ability to learn new tasks
• Must be available to work varied shifts and weekends
• Ability to lift heavy objects and stand/walk throughout the day
• Ability to tolerate heat from the kitchen
• Must be free of communicable diseases

Areas of Primary Responsibility

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals to residents in a safe and sanitary manner, adhering to public health regulations and sanitation codes.
• Be familiar with Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS).
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment by practicing safe work habits, using proper hand washing techniques, and following routine cleaning procedures.
• Prepare dining rooms daily: set tables, pour beverages, clear and clean dishes, and follow procedures for putting away stock and performing cleaning tasks when necessary.
