DINING SERVICES AIDE

Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Ability to follow directions.

Willing to do simple repetitive tasks.

Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, and be tolerant of residents, patients, visitors, families, peers, subordinates, supervisor, and outside contacts.

Responsibilities

• Follow oral and written directions
• Serve trays to residents
• Serve in the dining room
• Clean trays and tables in the dining room
• Pour and cover beverages
• Assist in preparing and covering food
• Maintain a clean work area
• Assist in the proper care and use of kitchen equipment
• Attend in-service training programs for food service employees
• Observe and follow infection control procedures related to the Dietary Department
• Follow Resident’s Rights policies at all times
• Follow facility safety program
• Attend work as scheduled and demonstrate dependability and punctuality
• Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner
• Assume accountability for data contained in the employees’ handbook
• Lift 50 lbs. or more
• Perform other related duties as directed by the Cook or Supervisor

Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand for long periods
• Must be able to tolerate frequent walking
• Ability to lift, bend, reach, and push/pull loads required
• Must be able to tolerate rapid fluctuations in workload
