Key Responsibilities
- Aid in the preparation and plating of meals for regular and modified diets.
- Understand and adhere to basic therapeutic diets and follow menu guidelines and dietary restrictions.
- Set up dining rooms, meal carts, and serving areas for scheduled meals and special events.
- Deliver meals and food carts to resident dining areas and nursing neighborhoods.
- Assist residents during mealtimes while encouraging independence, dignity, and social interaction.
- Address residents by name and provide courteous, resident-centered service.
- Operate the commercial dishwasher following proper sanitation and safety procedures.
- Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
- Perform routine cleaning of kitchen, dining, and food preparation areas.
- Dispose of trash and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Participate in departmental audits, meetings, and required in-service training.
- Report equipment issues and supply needs promptly.
- Maintain accurate documentation as required.
- Follow all infection prevention, food safety, HIPAA, workplace safety, and organizational policies and procedures.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Ability to communicate respectfully with residents, families, and coworkers.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine lifting associated with food service.
- Commitment to maintaining cleanliness, food safety, and resident satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary services, food service, hospitality, healthcare, or senior living.
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets and food safety practices.
- Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment and dishwashing systems.
