About the role
The Dining Server at Cedarhurst Senior Living is responsible for delivering an exceptional dining experience for residents and guests. This role supports daily meal service, special events, and marketing functions, ensuring smooth execution and resident satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Aid with catering, room service, special events, and marketing functions.
- Take food and beverage orders and deliver service in a courteous, accurate, and efficient manner.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area by washing dishes, sanitizing tables, disposing of trash, and completing daily checklists.
- Clean dining areas, including floors, tables, and chairs after meals and events, and ensure sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping are completed at the end of each shift.
- Support cost-control efforts by minimizing waste and using supplies responsibly.
- Prepare and maintain table settings to meet Cedarhurst's established dining standards and create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to support positive relationships and ensure residents' physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing.
- Collaborate with team members, follow management direction, and demonstrate initiative in resolving conflicts and promoting a respectful, supportive dining environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Up to two years of prior experience preferred, with senior living experience strongly desired.
- Relevant state or county licensure preferred, with the ability to obtain licensure if required by the state in which employed.
- CPR or BLS certification preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in common digital tools and applications, including Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word), web-based platforms, electronic health record systems, and any HR-related systems as applicable.
Qualifications

- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions).
- Effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations (FDA, state, county, local).
- Ability to follow recipes and ingredient labels.
- Ability to operate, maintain, and clean kitchen equipment and utensils in accordance with safety guidelines.

Schedule
