About the role

The Dining Server plays a crucial role in delivering an exceptional dining experience for residents and guests at Cedarhurst Senior Living. This position supports daily meal service, special events, and various catering functions, ensuring smooth execution and resident satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Aid with catering, room service, special events, and marketing functions, maintaining high standards of service and cleanliness.
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders and deliver service in a courteous, accurate, and efficient manner.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized work area by washing dishes, sanitizing tables, disposing of trash, and completing daily checklists.
  • Clean dining areas, including floors, tables, and chairs, ensuring they are welcoming and sanitary.
  • Support cost-control efforts by minimizing waste and using supplies responsibly.
  • Prepare and maintain table settings to meet Cedarhurst's dining standards and create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of dining menus and effectively communicate menu details to residents and guests.
  • Apply basic math skills to accurately perform dining-related tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to support positive relationships and ensure residents' physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with team members, follow management direction, and resolve conflicts to promote a respectful, supportive dining environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Up to two years of prior experience preferred, with senior living experience strongly desired.
  • Relevant state or county licensure preferred, with the ability to obtain licensure if required by the state in which employed.
  • CPR or BLS certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in common digital tools and applications, including Microsoft Office programs, web-based platforms, electronic health record systems, and any HR-related systems as applicable.

Qualifications
