About the role
The Dining Server plays a crucial role in delivering an exceptional dining experience for residents and guests at Cedarhurst Senior Living. This position supports daily meal service, special events, and various catering functions while ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment.
Responsibilities
- Aid with catering, room service, special events, and marketing functions, ensuring smooth execution and resident satisfaction.
- Take food and beverage orders promptly and deliver service in a courteous, accurate, and efficient manner.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work area by washing dishes, following food safety standards, clearing, sanitizing, and resetting tables.
- Clean dining areas, including floors, tables, and chairs, and ensure sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping are completed at the end of each shift.
- Support cost-control efforts by minimizing waste and using supplies responsibly.
- Accurately follow recipes and ingredient labels to ensure proper preparation and consistency of food and beverages.
- Safely operate, maintain, and clean kitchen equipment and utensils in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to support positive relationships and ensure residents' physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing.
- Collaborate with team members, follow management direction, and resolve conflicts to promote a respectful, supportive dining environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Up to two years of prior experience preferred, with senior living experience strongly desired.
- Relevant state or county licensure preferred, with the ability to obtain licensure if required by the state in which employed.
- CPR or BLS certification preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in common digital tools and applications, including Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word), web-based platforms, electronic health record systems, and any HR-related systems as applicable.
Qualifications

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and up to 200 pounds with assistance.
