Dining Senior Cook
for section headings like About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Only include sections when posting has real specific content. We need to preserve all substantive info, remove boilerplate.
We need to parse the posting.
Key sections:
- About the role: maybe Job Summary? The posting includes "Job Summary" describing Senior Cook role. That could be "About the role". Also "Department Overview" etc. But we should not repeat job title as heading. Use for section headings.
We need to decide which sections to include: Benefits, Pay, Schedule, Responsibilities (Job Duties), Requirements (Required Qualifications), Qualifications (Preferred Qualifications maybe), Skills (maybe part of qualifications). The instruction: Use headings for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). So we can include those that have content.
We need to extract content:
- About the role: Could be Job Summary + Department Overview? The posting includes "Job Summary" describing role. Also "Department Overview" about DSAS and CHES. Might be considered "About the role" or "About UC Santa Cruz". But we have a separate "About Uc Santa Cruz" paragraph. The instruction says do NOT repeat the job title as a heading, and do NOT put Job ID etc. We can include a section "About the role" containing the Job Summary (maybe also Department Overview). But we also have "About Uc Santa Cruz" which is about the institution; maybe we could include that as part of "About the role" or separate? The instruction only lists certain headings; we could include "About the role" and maybe "About UC Santa Cruz" not in list, but we could omit if not needed. Better to stick to allowed headings.
Thus we can have:
About the role
About the role
Job Summary: Under the general supervision of Sous Chefs or Managers, the Senior Cook prepares food that is complex and of the highest quality... (the whole Job Summary paragraph). Also maybe include Department Overview? Might be considered part of role context. But we can keep it concise. But we must preserve ALL substantive information; we cannot omit details like Department Overview, About UC Santa Cruz, etc. If we omit them, we lose info. However we could incorporate them into appropriate sections: e.g., "About the role" could include Department Overview and About UC Santa Cruz as context. But we need to ensure we don't lose any info. Let's list all substantive blocks: - Multiple full time Partial Year Career positions available in multiple Dining Halls across the UC Santa Cruz campus. (opening line) - Benefits To Working At UC Santa Cruz Include Medical, Dental & Vision Care Insurance Plans UC Retirement Plans Group Term Life Insurance Legal Insurance Pet Insurance Paid Holidays plus accrued vacation and sick leave Meal Allowance - How To Apply ... (application instructions) - we must remove application instructions per rule: remove application instructions. So we drop that. - INITIAL REVIEW DATE (IRD) ... details about IRD. This is metadata; we can fold minor metadata into a short
or drop it. Probably we can include a short paragraph about IRD? The rule says do NOT put Job ID / requisition numbers as headings — fold minor metadata into a short
or drop it. So we can include a
with IRD info maybe. But we need to decide if we keep it. It's substantive? It's about application timeline; but we are told to remove application instructions, but IRD is maybe considered metadata. Could fold into a short
. We'll include a short paragraph. - About Uc Santa Cruz paragraph. - Department Overview paragraph. - More information can be found at: https://dining.ucsc.edu (link) - maybe we keep as part of description. - Job Summary paragraph. - APPOINTMENT INFORMATION: Budgeted Salary: $28.05/hourly ... Benefits Level Eligibility: Full benefits Schedule Information Full-time, FixedPercentage of Time: 100%, 40 Hours per WeekDays of the Week: To be determined and details to be discussed at the interviewShift Includes: Day, Evenings Night, Weekends, to be determined and discussed at the interview Employee Classification: Partial Year Career, Furlough to be determined and details to be discussed at the interview Job End Date: None Work Location: UC Santa Cruz Main Campus Union Representation: Service Employees (SX) Job Code Classification: COOK SR (005522) Travel: Never or Rarely - Job Duties (with percentages and details) - Required Qualifications (list) - Preferred Qualifications (list) - SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT (list) We need to map to sections: - About the role: Could combine opening line, Department Overview, About UC Santa Cruz, Job Summary, maybe more info link. - Responsibilities: Job Duties (the percentages and details). Could also include some of the appointment info? But appointment info is more about pay, schedule, benefits. - Requirements: Required Qualifications. - Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications (maybe also include Special Conditions? Could be part of Requirements or separate). But we have headings: Requirements, Qualifications, Skills. Could treat Required Qualifications as Requirements, Preferred Qualifications as Qualifications, and maybe Skills as part of both. - Benefits: Benefits To Working At UC Santa Cruz Include ... plus maybe Benefits Level Eligibility: Full benefits. - Pay: Budgeted Salary: $28.05/hourly. - Schedule: Schedule Information (Full-time, Fixed..., Days of the Week: To be determined..., Shift Includes: ...). Also Employee Classification: Partial Year Career, Furlough etc. Could be part of schedule. We must not create sections with filler like "commensurate with experience". We have actual data. We must not repeat job title as heading. We must output only HTML fragment, no /, no markdown. We'll structure:
About the role

Under the general supervision of Sous Chefs or Managers, the Senior Cook prepares food that is complex and of the highest quality... (Job Summary text).
But we need to ensure we don't lose any details: The Department Overview text is long; we need to include it fully. Let's copy it exactly as in posting: "Department Overview The Division of Student Affairs and Success (DSAS), led by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Success, consists of nearly 800 professional staff and 2100 student staff spanning five major units. Deeply devoted to offering students a transformational educational experience, our division provides campus-wide coordination and leadership of student success programs, activities, and initiatives. Colleges, Housing, and Educational Services (CHES) is a multi-funded organization within the Division of Student Affairs and Success (DSAS) at the University of California (UC) Santa Cruz. Our mission is to be committed to creating a diverse, safe, fun and trusting environment for our guests and team; building an innovative dining program providing high quality service and food while embracing social, nutritional and financial responsibilities." We'll include that. About UC Santa Cruz paragraph: "UC Santa Cruz is a public university like no other in California, combining the experience of a small, liberal arts college with the depth and rigor of a major research university. It's known as an unconventional place where innovation and experimentation is part of the campus's DNA. That playful, bold spirit still thrives today, all on a campus renowned as among the most beautiful in the world." Job Summary paragraph: "Under the general supervision of Sous Chefs or Managers, the Senior Cook prepares food that is complex and of the highest quality, which is appropriate to the skill level of a Senior Cook. Prepares assigned recipes for residence hall meals and other events, providing the highest quality of service to the customers. The incumbent will fill a leadership role in the kitchen by organizing and directing all assigned production staff for meal service. Follows all policies, rules and regulations of the University. Ensures health and safety guidelines are practiced. Performing under general supervision, this is a leadership kitchen position with the appropriate level of experience and competency in food preparation, productions and kitchen management." We'll combine. Now Responsibilities: Job Duties with percentages and details. We'll output as- each duty? The duties are broken into percentages with sub-bullets. We could create a
- with each major duty as
- and inside maybe
- for subpoints. But we need to preserve all details. We'll do:
