General Summary The Dining Room Supervisor is responsible for overseeing food service activities and providing the level of supervision necessary to ensure the courteous and efficient service of quality and nutritious foods. Essential Job Duties Assists in assuring staff education is provided to dining room/restaurant personnel in accordance with the staff education plan plus provides on the job training for staff. Developing work assignments for staff assigning specific jobs and spot-checking work to ensure standards are met. Acts as problem resolution for resident and staff issues as they arise and notifies Directors. Initiates maintenance requests to keep restaurants in good working order. Initiates and supervises the completion of hands-on assignments as assigned. Maintains individual information concerning staffing pattern, resident likes, dislikes and front of house service. Works directly in support of team and ensures that the shift runs smoothly by participating in all job activity. Attends pre-shifts and instructs staff. Works with new staff to teach service skills and how to handle service in the dining room/restaurant. Contacts the Food & Beverage Manager about challenges with front and back of house staff. Makes sure that all side work is done properly and in a timely manner. Assists with ordering for necessary products for the department including alcohol and market items. Assists with programming, reporting and adjustments on Full Count.
